Be Aware Of Retail Prices
We love our brand new home at #5, 3305 Smith Drive, right next to Dollar Dollar. We had the opportunity to host the Business after Business meeting for the Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce members on the 15th of July, shortly after we moved in. Thank you to all of you who attended. Special thanks to Willow Vandermeer, Marilyn Douglas, and Brenda Firth for helping with the event.
The expanded space allowed us to add a small furniture and electronics section. Our selection of books and home décor items is one you need to check out. We have a large quantity of soft and hard cover books from a number of great authors. The extensive range of home décor items offers something for every style preference and budget. If you are not there for the bargains stop by to meet interesting people.
One of the best parts about having a thrift store is the people you meet. Last week Dale and Gena from the OutbackJacks Horse Rescue, in Falkland, stopped in for a visit to Gathering Grounds. This week they brought in a generous truck load of items. We have created a category for them so people may have their donated items go to benefit their cause. The cost of looking after the horses is a costly enterprise and we are happy to assist them. All of the OutbackJacks items are recognizable with their purple ink price tags.
The donations from the Vernon Christian School, Pleasant Valley Academy, Glad Tidings Church, the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club/Food Bank as well as the general public continue to be of great quality. Thank you to all of those who have donated what is left from their garage sales as well as those who have made donations directly to the store.
We cannot thank you enough for bringing in your clean, unwanted items. We do not have a lot of volunteers and the clean, unbroken donations allow us to get the products onto the sales floor quicker.
